SOURCE MATERIAL
On View January 23rd - March 28th, 2026.
In SOURCE MATERIAL, six artists explore nature as a living archive. Through sculpture, painting, collage, and printmaking, they engage with materials and processes to arrive at deeper truths.
Each work traces a journey of transformation, capturing the subtle interplay between creation and resolution, and archiving the delicate passage from raw material to refined form. Together, the pieces invite reflection on the ways we observe, record, and reimagine the natural world, finding beauty and meaning in both process and outcome.
This group exhibition features the work of Meagen Svendsen, Blair Vaughn-Gruler, Brian Comber, Katie Kindle, Ren Cannon, and Melanie Grein
MEAGEN SVENDSEN
Through her porcelain sculptures, MEAGEN SVENDSEN reveals the ways nature quietly carries the stories of its past. The forest reveals truths through rings, scars, and remnants— records of what endures and what falls away. Her work reflects on what we keep, what we let go of, and how you can shape the stories we carry.
BLAIR VAUGHN-GRUELER
Compelled by dichotomies, BLAIR VAUGHN GRULER embraces intuition and muscle memory in her layered mixed media paintings. Through repetition, references to language, and meditative practice, her work arrives at a place of resolution, balance, and quiet contemplation.
BRIAN COMBER
Influenced by the complexity of the medium, BRIAN COMBER explores our natural world in all it’s flux and flows through his vibrant watercolor paintings. Comber’s new work welcomes spontaneity and as a result is forced to become vulnerable and trusting in the medium, letting it guide his forms and inspire his colors.
MELANIE GREIN
MELANIE GREIN embraces the rhythmic interplay of contrasts, the sensitivity of proportion, and the relationships that emerge between them. Drawn to the delicate balance between impulsiveness and intention, she allows each piece to find its own equilibrium. This body of work continues her exploration of buoyancy and light, inviting viewers into a world where form feels both grounded and uplifted.
KATIE KINDLE
Inspired by process, KATIE KINDLE creates her Murmuration series through cyanotype and lumen photographic techniques—methods that rely on light, water, and alchemy. She transforms sensitive imagery into expressions of renewal, resulting in works that invite creation, healing, and uplift within the community.
REN CANNON
REN CANNON studies the subtle systems and patterns of nature. Their mark making responds to the gestures and rhythms found in the natural world, creating a dialogue between nature’s traces and our own acts of recording and connection.
